The Department of Civil Engineering is a leading department in Thailand with recognized achievements in teaching, research and engineering consulting. The department has faculty members who are experienced, specialized and have achievements in teaching, research and consulting in all aspects of civil engineering. There are arenas, laboratories and specialized research rooms equipped with modern tools and equipment sufficient for students’ practical training, such as the Mechanics and Materials Research Center, Traffic and Transportation Research and Development Center, Structural Engineering Laboratory, Concrete Laboratory, Asphalt Laboratory, Survey Laboratory and Aerial Photography Laboratory, etc. The department’s personnel are also assigned to be responsible for major engineering projects in the country. Currently, it offers undergraduate and international programs and graduate programs.

Programs offered

At the undergraduate and graduate levels, there are a total of 6 programs as follows:

1. Bachelor of Engineering Program in Civil Engineering (Regular Program)

Focuses on producing engineers who have knowledge and expertise in civil engineering in both theory and practice, can learn and use modern technology to benefit the public without harming the environment, can communicate and work well with people in other professions, are responsible and ethical, and conduct themselves to benefit society.

2. Bachelor of Engineering Program in Civil Engineering (International Program)

Focuses on producing engineers with knowledge and skills comparable to international standards, with the potential to work worldwide. All teaching is conducted in English.

3. Master of Engineering Program in Civil Engineering (Structure, Geotechnics, Water Resources and Transportation)

Focuses on creating and developing civil engineering professionals and researchers with expertise and are recognized nationally and internationally, to become high-quality human resources that are important in solving the country’s problems, increasing quality and production capacity, and resulting in a strong and sustainable national economy.

4. Master of Engineering Program in Construction Engineering and Management

This is the first Professional Program in CM in Thailand. It focuses on enhancing the knowledge and skills of engineers in engineering and construction management by allowing students to choose their own subjects and topics for specific study projects or dissertations, according to their interests and aptitudes. It is taught in the evening to provide civil engineers working in both the public and private sectors with the opportunity to continue their studies, to increase their knowledge and apply modern technology to their work. At the same time, students will benefit from exchanging experiences gained from their work.

5. Master of Engineering Technology Program in Civil Engineering Technology (Civil Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Transportation and Logistics Engineering)

Focuses on producing graduates with the ability to solve engineering problems, with an emphasis on subjects that can be applied in practice in the construction industry. Education begins with planning, management, technical design, post-construction maintenance, and the application of information technology in every step of the construction project. Graduates will have in-depth technical expertise, while also having an understanding of the overall picture of every step of the project, and are ready to become executives in the engineering field.

6. Doctor of Philosophy Program in Civil Engineering (Structure, Geotechnics, Water Resources, Transportation, and Construction Engineering and Management)

Focuses on producing researchers with high knowledge and ability to conduct quality research that is consistent with national strategic issues, and is internationally recognized. Such researchers must be seriously interested in research, have initiative, develop themselves to create lifelong learning, and be able to solve various problems by themselves.
