The Civil Engineering Department Hosts the 19th 2B-KMUTT “Civil Camp” for Young Engineers
The Civil Engineering Department at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) successfully organized the 19th 2B-KMUTT “Civil Camp” as part of its ongoing initiative under the 2B-KMUTT network. This camp provided an excellent opportunity for high school students in grades 11–12 from the science track to participate in activities with faculty members and current students of the department.
The program aimed to offer these students a hands-on experience of civil engineering, an understanding of the career path, and insight into professional growth within the field. Beyond enriching students’ knowledge, this camp also served as an avenue for the department to recruit prospective students through direct applications to the Civil Engineering program.
The event commenced with an opening speech by Associate Professor Dr. Somphot Youwai, Chairperson of the program, and a welcome address by Dr. Julapoj Jirawatjardet, Head of the Civil Engineering Department. Additionally, Mr. Ponwat Sirinanthawakul, Chief Executive of Precast Operations at Inno Precast Co., Ltd., representing Pruksa Real Estate Public Company Limited, presented commemorative shirts to the students selected to join the 19th 2B-KMUTT “Civil Camp.”
The camp ran from November 15 to November 19, 2024, with over 60 participants, including students, mentors, and staff. It featured a range of engaging activities designed to inspire and educate the next generation of civil engineers.
