Scholarships
The Department of Civil Engineering places great importance on scholarships. There is a clear policy to support students at all levels by providing opportunities for supplementary income while they are studying, and even offering full scholarships to alleviate the financial burden on their families. The department has established various types of scholarships, allocating and securing several million baht annually. The main types of scholarships are as follows:
King Mongkut’s Diamond Scholarship (For more details, click here)
This scholarship is awarded to students at both undergraduate and graduate levels who demonstrate potential, capability, enthusiasm, and a desire to learn. It provides support for the duration of their studies as specified in the program and under set conditions. The scholarships are divided into
- King Mongkut’s Diamond Scholarship for Excellence in Academic Performance
- King Mongkut’s Diamond Scholarship for Special Abilities, including in sports, leadership, innovation, and cultural arts
External Research Funding Scholarships
These are research scholarships requested by thesis advisors from various external funding sources to provide students with financial support while they study and conduct research. The main sources of research funding vary in amount and include budgets to support research both domestically and internationally. The scholarships include
- Office of the Thailand Research Fund (TRF
- Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC)
- National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT)
Phet Yothi Scholarship
This scholarship provides support of 244,000 baht per scholarship, with one scholarship per field of study, totaling 6 scholarships. The details of the scholarship are as follows
- A monthly stipend of 6,000 baht for 24 months, allocated to all fields of study offered in the Department of Civil Engineering at KMUTT, with a total amount of 864,000 baht. Students receiving this scholarship must enroll in only 12 credits of thesis work.
- Tuition fees and registration fees for 4 semesters, with a maximum of 25,000 baht per semester (reimbursed according to actual expenses and in line with the graduate program framework), allocated to all fields of study offered in the Department of Civil Engineering at KMUTT, with a total amount of 600,000 baht.

Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant Scholarship
- Teaching Assistant Scholarship: This scholarship is designed to help graduate students develop their skills in teaching undergraduate students in practical courses and to enhance their own academic abilities. The scholarship amounts to 12,000 baht per semester, with 20-25 scholarships available each semester.
- Research Assistant Scholarship: This scholarship allows thesis advisors to allocate funds from research projects to students, providing them with income while assisting with both the research project and their thesis. The amount of each scholarship varies.
Private Sector Scholarships
Recognizing the importance of education for the country, private sector organizations that acknowledge this importance provide ongoing support. Notably, the Pruksa Real Estate Public Company Limited offers scholarships of 20,000 baht each, with 3 scholarships awarded annually.
University Employment Scholarships
These scholarships support students by providing income during their studies, covering all levels of education. Students work part-time assisting the department, with an average of 3 scholarships available.
