On Sunday, June 16, 2024, the Department of Civil Engineering at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, in collaboration with the Foundation for Development of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (the main organization for the continuous professional development of engineers by the Council of Engineers), organized a training project on the topic “Summary of Key Concepts in Designing and Strengthening Buildings for Earthquake Resistance for Designers and Project Supervisors.” This event was aimed at engineers, architects, project supervisors, and stakeholders involved in construction projects. We were honored to have Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sutthas Leelataweewat, Deputy Director of the Office of Research and Science and Technology Services, and a faculty member of the Department of Civil Engineering, as the speaker. The lecture aimed to enhance knowledge for engineers and stakeholders about essential aspects of designing and strengthening buildings for earthquake resistance, serving as guidance for the design and control of construction projects. This effort is intended to reduce loss of life and property from earthquakes. The lecture was conducted free of charge in an online format via Zoom Meeting, with 300 participants in attendance.
