On Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the Camellia Room on the 1st floor of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Bangkok.

King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), through the Office of Human Resources, held the KMUTT Outstanding Personnel Recognition Ceremony for the year 2023. The event aimed to celebrate and honor faculty, researchers, departments, and staff who have contributed to the university’s reputation by creating high-quality academic works, research, and innovations that have been recognized at both national and international levels.

Assoc. Prof. Sumet Angkasirikul, Deputy Rector for Human Resources, reported on the objectives of the event, while Prof. Emeritus Dr. Yongyuth Yuthavong, Chairman of the University Council, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvit Saetia, the university president, expressed their congratulations and presented certificates and souvenirs to the personnel who contributed to the university’s prestige. In total, KMUTT received 77 awards, including 11 for outstanding performance, 29 for excellent performance, 4 for commendation, 4 for emerging researchers, and 19 for outstanding advisors and supporting staff in student development for the academic year 2023. Additionally, 5 departments received commendation awards, and 5 departments were recognized for the KMUTT Engagement Survey.

The event also featured the KMUTT Inspiration Talk, aimed at inspiring teaching, research, and academic service. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siam Jareonseang, Senior Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs, spoke about igniting the transformation of KMUTT’s education system as a policy to inspire staff in their work. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wichitra Deonchai from the Department of Chemistry shared her teaching experiences to guide KMUTT toward educational reform. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surapong Rattanaskul from the Department of Environmental Engineering shared ideas and perspectives, while Khun Bawornsak Phetranont from the Prototype Factory Development and Training Institute discussed his experiences and insights in academic service.
