The Department of Civil Engineering would like to express its gratitude to the State Railway of Thailand, project management consulting groups, construction supervision consulting groups, and Nawarat Patanakarn Co., Ltd. for their generous invitation for undergraduate and graduate students of the department to observe the construction of rock tunnels for the high-speed rail project. This project spans from Bangkok to Nong Khai (Phase 1: Bangkok to Nakhon Ratchasima), under Contract 3-2, focusing on civil engineering for the tunnel construction between Mook Lek and Lam Takong. The event took place on Friday, February 16, 2024, at the construction site of the Mook Lek tunnel entrance on the western side of Phasa Dech, where students were provided with valuable insights and guided through various construction stages inside the tunnel.
